Geospatial Innovation Program (GIP)
The Washington College Geospatial Innovation Program (GIP) strives to provide innovative geospatial solutions for our partners while creating experiential learning opportunities for our students.
The Geospatial Innovation Program is a spatial technologies hub providing experiential learning through professional internships, academic courses, and support for research. In partnership with external organizations, we pair students with projects to solve real-world problems.
Since 2007, the Geospatial Innovation Program (GIP) at Washington College has led in geospatial analytics, delivering over 40 projects worth $12.5+ million across the U.S. and internationally. We support communities in strengthening resilience, increasing preparedness, and securing critical mitigation funding. We bring cutting-edge expertise, specialized knowledge, resource access, and a community focus.

Our partners and clients depend on us for timely and accurate data and tools that they can use to make better-informed decisions that impact the health and safety of our community.
